Why Choose William Blue?

We prepare people for exciting careers

The remarkable development of career potential in global Hotel Management is the direct result of dramatic increases in world-wide tourism. Traditional career paths in Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing and Rooms Division have expanded to now include Resort, Convention and Event Management. Australia has also identified Cookery as an area of significant skill shortage and in an active response to this need; William Blue has introduced to its portfolio of courses the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality – Commercial Cookery.

Regardless of your chosen area of specialty, a career in hospitality offers you exciting lifestyle options. The opportunities for international travel abound, as do the prospects of impressive career development.

We offer practical experience

A purely academic education is not enough to make it in the hospitality industry. You also need specific practical skills and the ability to connect with people and make them feel welcome and comfortable and a willingness to learn and work toward achieving your goals.

Therefore you need practical experience while you study. The college helps and encourages students to work part time in the industry during the course. Nearly 90% of the students elect to work, and in the two years of the Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree course can earn between $16,000 and $36,000.

We are linked with the industry

All our lecturers bring a strong level of industry experience with them. In fact, many lecturers come from industry and can provide up to date information to students.

To ensure we keep pace with the expanding industry, William Blue was instrumental in setting up the Association of Australian Hotel Schools to lobby government, develop best practice principals between all member organisations and track innovation in the hospitality industry. As a founding member of the Association, we are dedicated to excellence in the field of Hotel and Tourism Management Education.

William Blue is the Australian licensee of the Education Institute (EI) for the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). It is the largest training body for hospitality in the world. Their international diploma is recognised in 163 countries.
