Dana Sigmund is a scholarship student at William Blue.
She sat down with fellow student, Clare Wahhab to talk about careers in hospitality and life as a student. Both Dana and Clare are currently studying hospitality management.
Clare is in her first year of study at William Blue. She’s a passionate coffee enthusiast and with the skills she’s learning at William Blue, she hopes to open her own coffee haven one day. Since beginning her journey with us, Clare has been able to begin pursuing her dream by gaining employment at the Coffee Emporium.
Why did you choose William Blue?
I chose to study at William Blue because I was enticed by their industry connections and flexible study options. Students are helped in their quest to gain experience and secure a job, and that was something that really appealed to me.

What has been your biggest achievement since commencing your studies with William Blue?
Since beginning my studies, my biggest achievement has been gaining a clearer understanding of what I want in my career, and what I want to get out of my degree. Accompanied by the support of my lecturers and peers, I have gained so much confidence in doing so.
How has William Blue helped you on the right path to achieve your career aspirations?
William Blue College has helped me on the right path, by equipping me with the support, knowledge and hands-on training I need to achieve my career goals. Together with varied subjects and the support of lecturers, peers and faculty, I have more confidence in myself as a professional. I love the hands-on environment the college has created, I am leaning under the guidance of industry trained professionals.
What appeals to you about the hospitality industry?
The hospitality industry is fulfilling in many ways because each day is different. It is rewarding when customers walk out happy and satisfied with their service and stay.
What is the best thing about William Blue?
William Blue College creates a friendly learning environment, that is welcoming and inviting to those who want to get their foot in the door. Lessons are taught by professionals, who have experience in the industry and pass their wealth of knowledge onto students.
