Once again the TASTE OF SYDNEY Food & Wine festival showcased some of Sydney’s best restaurants as well as a wide range of food & wine stands. The open air event was held in Centennial Park with thousands of people attending the event each day.
Fifty five fabulous students from William Blue College volunteered their time to participate in the event giving them invaluable networking opportunities and some hands-on experience for their career development. The volunteers assisted in a variety of roles from welcoming attendees, event coordination, food & beverage and assisting the chefs in the kitchen.
The event was a huge success and more importantly an opportunity for students to work side by side with many celebrity chefs in Sydney such as Colin Fassnidge, Frank Camorra, Mark Best, Min Kim, Richard Ptacnik, Shuan Presland, just to name a few. William Blue received amazing feedback from the chefs and some students were approached for potential employment opportunities!
It is events such as these that William Blue can offer its students, which forms such integral part of the student lifecycle in the delivering of THINK’s promise that ‘everyone goes to work’ and ‘every student has an edge’.
